Transformers Prime: Starscream

Alright, here comes an honest crit.

The loose style- i am envious of- I am so anally tight that my stuff tends to look stiff. Yours does look more energetic as far as style. Its loose, its fun, it looks nice.

I like the simple bg, and like how it goes from light to dark. I like how you colored it- it has some nice texture feeling toward it.

For some reason- reverting back to art school- this pose could have been set up for Contrapposto. Look at the link below- gives you the definition and pictures of statues that have it. Like Michelangelo's David. This will help with the cropped off hand issue( mentioned later)

I do wish there was some more definition in the piece. His arm coming across the chest-part of his hand I think there could be more definition to to not loose it as much.

His right arm ( one that is coming across his chest- kinda gets a little confusing to m I see it after really looking. See, its dark there, that I am kinda thinking some of his arm is in darkness, but then when I see it, its not. I think, anatomically speaking, the arm will be out a smidge more. It can be in darkness since the light source is coming from the other side, but you would still see the definition of the arm a little. It look slike it is hugging against his body- which would be correct for how far the hand comes up- i think the arm and shoulder would be rotated down a smidge tho, bringing the forearm out and angled a little more.

See how the top of his legs are colored? I wish there were more of that in his body. You got the start of it on his wings, but in the center- its more grey. Yeah, you got some on his arm, but just a smidge.

the rendering of SS prime is decent. Some spots look tighter then others, but overall it doenst bother me.

Cropping- ,my only nitpick- is one hand is cropped off. Having a limb cropped off right at the wrist is not the best. Either draw the hand and more of the legs ( which I'd like b/c i love the coloring on the legs, or crop it a bit highter- however that can be tricky, b/c then his elbow of the other hand would be cropped.

Composition- looks good. Its a vertical movement mainly, but the arm coming up keeps your eyes focused within the piece. Another suggestion- if this was gonna be a bigger piece- have him standing to the left more- - so hes like in a third of the piece, and then, if you wanted to go this route, can have an almost bg- maybe a rocky cave or something and we see more of the light source reasoning. However, this could simply be suggesting something that you did not want to go with. Its fine- b/c i like the composition of the layout, its just a suggestion. thats all. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>

Overall- lookes like a fun piece to create. Love the way you colored, and I wish its something I could do with my comp colored stuff. I think its a good piece, and you done a good job with it!!
